1. About this policy
Aluminium Bharat 2026 is the official app for visitors, exhibitors, members and delegates of the Aluminium Bharat 2026 exhibition. It gives you a digital badge, lets you scan badge QR codes to exchange details, browse exhibitors and their catalogues, shortlist exhibitors, request meetings and keep notes. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, who can see it, and how you can delete it. “We” means the organiser, ALEMAI, and the developer that runs the app for it.
2. What the app collects
Information you or your registration provide
- Mobile phone number — used to sign you in with a one-time SMS code (Firebase Authentication) and stored on your profile.
- Full name, company name, designation and email address — either from the event registration you completed (supplied to the app by the organiser) or entered by you when you register in the app.
- Badge code — the registration or entry code shown as your QR badge, and your attendee role (visitor, exhibitor, exhibitor team member, member or delegate).
- Areas of interest — the product categories you select, and, if you gave one in an earlier registration, how you heard about the event.
- Profile photo or company logo — if you upload one.
- Exhibitor company details (exhibitors only) — company description, logo, website and social media links, product categories, stall details, and catalogue files you upload. Exhibitors can also add team members by entering their name, phone number and email.
Information created when you use the app
- Badge scans — when you scan another attendee’s or an exhibitor’s badge QR code, or someone scans yours, the app records who scanned whom and when.
- Exhibitor lead notes — an exhibitor who scans your badge can add notes about the conversation and mark you as a hot, warm or cold lead.
- Shortlists — exhibitors you add to your shortlist.
- Meeting requests — the exhibitor, time slot, your name and company, and any note you add; the exhibitor’s reply.
- Private notes — notes members and delegates write about people they meet.
- Catalogue downloads — when you download an exhibitor’s catalogue, the app records that you downloaded it.
- Notifications — the in-app notifications sent to you, for example about meetings.
Device information
- Push notification token — a device token from Firebase Cloud Messaging, stored on your profile so we can send you meeting and event notifications.
- App integrity check — the app uses Firebase App Check, which asks Google Play Integrity (Android) or Apple App Attest (iOS) to confirm that requests come from a genuine copy of the app. This exchanges device-integrity signals with Google or Apple; we do not use it to identify you.
- Settings stored on your device — for example your sign-in state and app preferences.
Permissions
- Camera — to scan badge QR codes and, if you choose, take a profile photo.
- Photos / media — to pick a profile photo, logo or catalogue image, and to save your badge QR code and downloaded catalogues to your device.
- Notifications — to show meeting and event notifications.
You can refuse or withdraw any of these in your device settings; the related feature will then not work.
What the app does not do
- It does not include advertising or third-party analytics tools, and does not track you across other apps or websites.
- It does not collect your location, contacts, or microphone audio.
- It does not use cookies. This web page sets no cookies and loads no scripts.
3. How we use it
- To sign you in and show your digital badge.
- To run the networking features: badge scanning, exhibitor lead lists, shortlists, meetings, notes and catalogue sharing.
- To send you notifications about meetings and the event.
- To let the organiser run the exhibition — registration, entry and attendee support.
- To keep the app secure and working, and to prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Who can see your information
- Exhibitors you connect with. When you scan an exhibitor’s badge, or an exhibitor scans yours, that exhibitor’s team can see your name, designation, company, phone number, email address, areas of interest and profile photo. They can add their own notes and lead rating, and can export this list (for example as a spreadsheet) to follow up with you after the event. Exhibitors whose catalogue you download can see your name and email.
- Exhibitors you request a meeting with see your name, company, the time slot and your note.
- Members and delegates can see each other in the members and delegates directories (name and profile, and their email address or phone number).
- Everyone using the app can see exhibitor company profiles, logos, stall details and catalogues.
- The organiser, ALEMAI, and the developer acting for it can access all app data to run the event and support attendees.
- Service providers. Google (Firebase) hosts and processes the data for us; Google and Apple deliver push notifications and run the app integrity check.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of attendees or the security of the app.
Profile records are stored in the app’s shared attendee database so that names and details can appear on scans, meetings and directories. Only signed-in users of the app can reach it; we do not publish it outside the app. Your private notes, shortlist and your own scan history are shown only to you.
Once an exhibitor has saved or exported your details, their own use of them is their responsibility. The app’s terms forbid misuse of personal data obtained through badge scans.
5. Where it is processed
The app runs on Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging and App Check). Your information may be stored and processed on Google’s servers outside India, including in the United States.
6. How long we keep it
- Your account and profile are kept until you delete your account or ask us to delete it.
- The organiser keeps its registration records and an archive of exhibition records (attendee, company and stall data) after the event, for its records and to organise future editions. You can ask for your details to be removed at any time (see Deleting your account).
- Backup and archive copies made before a deletion may continue to hold your data until those copies are themselves deleted.
7. Deleting your account and data
In the app: open Settings → Delete Account and confirm. Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone.
This immediately deletes:
- your profile (name, phone number, email, designation, interests, push token);
- your badge code;
- your private notes, your shortlist and your scan history;
- your sign-in account.
It does not delete:
- the shared company profile, stall and catalogues, which an exhibitor’s whole team uses;
- records that belong to other people — an exhibitor’s lead list and notes about you, meetings you booked with an exhibitor, and exhibitors’ catalogue-download records. Once your profile is deleted these no longer show your contact details in the app, but they may still show the name and company you gave in a meeting request, and anything an exhibitor already exported stays with that exhibitor;
- photos or files you uploaded, and the organiser’s registration list;
- a record of the account ID and the time it was deleted, kept as proof that the deletion was completed.
By email: if you cannot use the app, or you also want the items above removed (for example your uploaded photo or your entry in the organiser’s registration list), email event@alemai.org from the email address you registered with, or include the registered mobile number, and ask for deletion. We may ask you to confirm the request before acting on it, and will reply to confirm what was deleted.
8. Your choices and rights
- You can view and edit your profile in the app.
- You can delete your account at any time (section 7).
- You can ask for a copy of your information, its correction or its deletion by writing to event@alemai.org.
- You can turn off notifications or camera and photo access in your device settings.
9. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored on Google Firebase, with access rules that limit what each signed-in user can read and change. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
10. Children
The app is for exhibition attendees and is not meant for children. You must be at least 18, or have a parent’s or guardian’s consent, to use it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page, with its effective date at the top.
